There is a potentially important development in the long-simmering debate over cameras in the courtroom, including the Supreme Court of the United States. The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, identified by many legal scholars as the country's "second most important court," has joined some other circuit courts in deciding to livestream the audio portion of oral arguments. In my opinion, this is long overdue. The American people have a right to know what is going on in their courthouses—a right to know unfiltered by the media.
