April represents clients in high-stakes matters including government law, breach of contract, partnership issues, product and premises defects, and oil and gas law and is committed to achieving success for her clients at all stages of the litigation and appellate process. She has argued and won cases in the Fifth Circuit, the Sixth Circuit, and the Texas Third Court of Appeals.

April brings to her client representation the skills and experience that she honed as an assistant solicitor general for the State of Texas. Her agency clients included the Texas Secretary of State, the University of Texas at Austin, the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. This diverse client roster enabled her to litigate appeals on a broad array of topics including administrative law, tax law, election law, immigration law, habeas corpus, and constitutional law. She also represented the State as supporting counsel in certain large-team, high-profile matters before the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

April currently serves a three-year term on the Council of the Texas State Bar Appellate Section. She is also a co-chair of the Appellate Section’s Government Appellate Lawyers committee.   She is admitted to practice in Texas, the U.S. District Courts of Texas, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second, Fifth, Sixth, Ninth, and Federal circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
