Jordan Lorence

Jordan Lorence serves as senior counsel with Alliance Defending Freedom at its Washington, D.C. office.  Lorence has litigated many First Amendment cases around the nation since 1984. In 1999, Lorence argued the Southworth case before the U.S. Supreme Court challenging the requirement of the University of Wisconsin that forced unwilling students to contribute to campus activist groups that opposed their beliefs. Lorence earned a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1980, and a B.A. in journalism from Stanford University.  He has appeared on many television and radio news shows, including NBC’s Today Show, National Public Radio’s All Things Considered and on news programs of the British Broadcasting Company.  Lorence also has appeared as a contestant on Jeopardy!, but alas, came in third place.
