- Judge Marc Nadon - Canadian Federal Court of Appeal
The Federalist Society NYC Young Lawyers Chapter and the Runnymede Society present a discussion with Judge Marc Nadon of the Canadian Federal Court of Appeal. Judge Nadon’s nomination to the Supreme Court of Canada by former Prime Minister Stephen Harper was blocked by the other Justices of the Court in Reference re Nadon. Judge Nadon will discuss his experience, as well as jurisprudential developments related to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms that threaten individual liberty. Judge Nadon will also discuss the Law Society of Upper Canada’s “Statement of Principles”, which will be familiar to those who have followed the debate on the ABA Model Rule 8.4.
